CURRENCY :  Kenyan shilling
SIZE :  581,309 km²
RELIGION The predominant religion in Kenya is Christianity, which is adhered to by an estimated 82.6% of the total population. Islam is the second largest religion in Kenya, practiced by about 11.1% of the total population. Other faiths practiced in Kenya are Baha'i, Buddhism, Hinduism and traditional religions.
ELECTRIC POWER :   240 volts
Electrical sockets (outlets) in Kenya usually supply electricity at between 220 and 240 volts AC. If you're plugging in an appliance that was built for 220-240 volt electrical input, or an appliance that is compatible with multiple voltages, then an adapter is all you need.
CLIMATE :  The climate of Kenya varies by location, from mostly cool every day, to always warm/hot. The climate along the coast is tropical. This means rainfall and temperatures are higher throughout the year. At the coastal cities, Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi, the air changes from cool to hot, almost every day.
HEALTH INFO :  Note: Zika is endemic in Kenya, and we believe the risk to travelers is low. Because of the risk of birth defects in babies born to women who were infected with Zika while pregnant, women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should discuss their travel plans with their doctor and, if they decide to travel to Kenya, strictly follow steps to prevent mosquito bites.
